A city’s government is considering three new projects but can only fund( provide money for) one of them. Which one of these projects do you believe the government should fund, and Why?
--Showing films for free in public parks on a regular basis
--Establishing after-school programs to teach students skills that they do not learn at school
—Creating advertisement designed to attract more tourists to the city
Thesis statement: Investing advertisement to attract tourists is a sound way for government to stimulate economic growth(刺激经济增长） and ensure more people to reap benefits(获利）.
Launching an intriguing（令人感兴趣的） advertisement can make a dent(引起注意） in the world, which can boost economic growth（促进经济增长）. This is because a well-designed advertisement can build positive city image, stirring public’s interests（激发兴趣） to get insight into（了解） this city. Therefore, as the number of tourists increasing, local products can be sold as souvenirs; restaurants providing tasty food can survive; hotels spending tons of money in furnishing and decorating is possible to recoup investment(收回成本）. In addition to develop business activities, advertising the city serves as alternative to creating more job opportunities, which lead to economical development. To be specific, when tourists flock to(蜂拥而至） the city, a large number of workforce is needed in terms of infrastructure construction(基础设施建设） and services in tourism attractions(旅游景点）.
Compared to government-sponsored(政府资助的） extracurriculum activities(课外活动）, funding tourismbenefits to most of people to large extent. Undeniably, students are able to explore their potentials(开发潜能） and discover their interests by attending all kinds of activities funded by government, cultivating them to be well-rounded talents（全面发展的人才） in the future. However, if we take different angle to view this point, students in contemporary are already suffocated（窒息） by tight-schedule（紧凑的安排） in-school curriculum and piles of assignments（堆积如山的作业）. Therefore, students are less likely to free extra time to engage in extracurricular programs. To say the least（退一步说）, even if having spare time to involve in this kind of activities, students only have a grasp of（掌握） entry-level（入门级） skills at best（最多）. On the other hand, funding tourism allow more people to harvest benefits（获利）: public can enjoy advanced infrastructure, such as more bus routes, convenient maglev train, and enough urban virescence(城市绿化）.想要更多托福写作范文的同学可以私信我
